Book of Faith

Calvary Lutheran Church in Two Rivers, Wisconsin, is beginning a discussion as we read through the Bible during the year 2009. A booklet of suggested daily readings is attached here in MS Publisher format, and the readings will be posted at the beginning of each month.

Please join in the discussion with questions or observations, insights or "aha" moments, or other comments as you feel moved to do so.

Shalom,
Pastor Kay

Jeremiah
Chapter 22

We can be greedy in not sharing our time or things. Aunt Judy shares her limited time with Kyle even though she is very busy with a demanding career & her kids/grandkids in four locations....

We take things for granted like living in a house. When a fire or tornado destroys a home, people's lives are changed in a instant.

When parents learn their child is healthy, it brings such a sense of relief. That sense of security can be shattered when news of a chronic condition becomes apparent. It can be totally devastating!

Remembering to thank God in the midst of a challenge is difficult, but it helps. God has blessed us so much, but we so often take Him for granted until something happens.

Chris

These are great insights! It is amazing how much we take for granted ... until it is gone. When we thank God - even in the midst of challenges or difficulties - it reminds us of what we have already received and what marvelous gifts God gives to us.

Shalom,
P. Kay
