In adult studies we have Romans happening, a book called Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World and Women of the Bible will begin again in January. We are coming up on a book study of The Shack.

For kids our Sunday School is doing Sparks Jesus' Birth.

We also, of course, have people blogging and discussion happening there, but the topic depends on the day. I'm always looking for new and interesting studies to do with my teens, that aren't condescending.

We started "Revelations and the end of all things " by Craig R. Koester this past sunday and plan to continue untell early December. Our Pastor who is semi retired has always wanted to do this and so far it is very interesting !!! For a small mostly older congregation we have a good size group !!! If Pastor can keep the level of excitement while studying what most would concider the hardest book to understand and future Bible studies should continue long into the future!!

Bruce,
You'll find Dr. Koester's study to be rewarding, and you'll discover that Revelation is not as strange a book as it first appears.
I'm pleased that you have a good group enrolled. Once you finish, I'll have plenty of additional ideas for you and your pastor to try out!
One that comes to mind is the Select DVD by Dr. Phil Ruge-Jones on Mark. It is divided into 16 sessions, each with a one page study guide. You could lead the study, Bruce!
Enjoy,
Greg

Ebenezer Lutheran in Chicago, IL - here are just a snippet of what's going on this fall/winter:

+A two-week Sunday morning Bible study on 1st & 2nd Corinthians. Developed & led by a member.
+Crossways classes - two-year Bible course, great but hard to get commitments from people
+an online bible study on the Magnificat through the Book of Faith social networking stuff -look under groups for Ebenezer Lutheran Church. It's a two week commitment, and I'm asking participants to add a reflection or response each day.
+Bible game day - being developed for a Saturday afternoon in April - games based on popular gameshows (like "Are you smarter than a fifth grader?"). Each game will be developed and run by a different person.
+we're using the Earthbound DVD based resource during Earth Month (April), and a couple Book of Faith Bible studies for Sunday morning or weekday evening Bible studies through the year.
+a woman came up to me with several ideas for a daytime Bible study (probably for women mostly), which she may lead, but they may use Lutheran Women Today as a starter.
