Armin,
Do you think we could use Skype to host a Bible Study or Book of Faith time together with some of the members of your parish and one of our congregations? I hadn't thought of Skype until tonight. If they gathered in your office we could "talk" together. Think about it....

Diane's idea is just what I though. Using BOF to get congregations connected, althogh there is a problem of language frm our side.

I'm wondering what it would look like to be a BOF congregation intentionally sharing Scripture with a companion parish?

Armin and Pat,
While language and distance certainly are impediments to keeping the excitement going, this renewed emphasis on becoming fluent in the first language of faith just might be the tool we've been searching for.
Pat, FYI, Armin has been central to the ongoing companion relationship between his synod and mine.
Armin, when Diane returns from Malawi Oct. 8, I'd like to get her active on this site so that we can begin to actually implement some ideas that will be generated.

As we notice the companion synod programs starts with quite a joy but after a while it cools down due to manny reasons. How can we keep the program working at its beggining?

Armin and Marlon. Thanks for taking the initiative to offer to host this conversation. I hope that this group becomes fertile ground for how we can learn from each other on effective ways to help our people become Biblically fluent. I'd be happy if we could just get our folks to read the Bible!
