I think "the word on the street" is passionately and evenly split. There will be a strong impact on the membership of the ELCA no matter what the outcome.

Willie: The issues of sexuality have a multitude of facets through which they can be viewed. These will be discussed and I'm sure even argued about at the churchwide assembly by the voting members of which I am one. The outcome will depend on how the Spirit moves those members to vote when the time comes. The book of faith in actuality is the Bible. As part of the book of faith initiative, I would strongly encourage you to open the book and find out what it says to you about these issues. Just as each of us has to establish our own individual relationship with God, so each of us must also listen closely to hear what his word says to us.

Bring a bible and a note pad and pen or pencil.
