Marlane,

You must be found in the heart of the snow fall this weekend.

Being whiter than snow is all of the rage in Psalm 51.

Think Psalm 51 (verse 7)!

Charles and Marlane,

Sorry it has taken this long to respond to your thoughtful messages through Book Of Faith.

This could be a sharing ground for trading lesson plans and suggestions for writing conferences.

So one learning is that once it's out there you can't take it back, proof read before hitting "add". I collected brochures from people. There are a few other typos but I think you can get the idea. I just realized that was the two times my thoughts were interrupted by a visitor to my office.

Things I packed in my suitcase coming home from the Book of Faith Jubilee which was held August 14-16, 2009: (1) a bag from Luther Seminary, proof that there is another seminary and I was there (2) a book full of contacts, cards and borchures I called from people I met reminding me that I am not alone working on this Initiative (3) gems, my notes from the plenary sessions and workshops on which I placed sticky gems to remind me of important learnings (4) a leash, one of the speakers said that catechetics appears to be incarceration, I learned that we do need to connect with youth then give then some slack and let them lead the way (5) a dog chew, Diane Jacobson brought to our attention Psalm 1:2 the word translated as meditate is mild, haggah the Hebrew word actually is more about chewing and gnawing on a bone, so let the chewing begin! (6) a to do list, first thing on my list is to read The Shack, it can be one way to open the conversation about who God is (7) my computer, I need to spend more learning how this technology can help with the Initiative. I am a face to face preference person, the computer capabilities will stretch my preference to share the Word of God with others. It was a great Jubilee. St. Paul, Minnesota and Luther Seminary is a great place to visit. I do hope I will have opportunity to have conversation with more folks from across the country.

I'll say it's slow. But that's ok. I'm busy reading the lectionary.

Welcome to the conversation (as slow as it may be at times)!

I believe in education. The more I learn the happier I am and of course, the more I know, the more I find there is to know. I have been a complacent Lutheran all my life. In the past few years I have started attending Sunday School and Bible study. And boy is there a lot I don't know or understand. Hopefully, I can learn form this experience.
