I couldn't help but wonder while I read the psalms by David that describe suffering and enemies where he got his inspiration from. I mean, surely as a king he would experience some enemies from other rulers, but would they directly effect him so? ...
Yah know, I never really thought it like that...hm.
Well, in Psalms I've read some very inspiring things. Things so beautiful and right that it makes me kinda mad when I get to the psalms where David starts telling God to take down his enemies. W...
Well, I really can't answer any of the questions that you posted... cause I don't have a clue...
I don't think badly of God for putting the truely wicked... Does just because I think there's a Hell mean that I think any less of God's love and gre...
Do you think they talked amongst themselves, or was it kind of a supportive/awkward silence?
That would be hard, though. to just sit there and watch their friend suffer. Then they try to help, but don't do a very good job. I wonder if maybe Elihu...
It's even taboo for us today, most of us I think. I know I can't love people 100% of the time, it just doesn't work for me like that. I get angry. I can be a mean person sometimes. I try not to let it rule my life, though. Let it go and move on.

What is it, do you think, that makes people (including myself) believe that there is a Hell and that the wicked will go there. Even in the Bible it says those who believe shall live forever with God. Maybe it's just because it sounds radical to us...

What is most challenging about engaging in Scripture?
The thing is, it is hard to get the right words out. I don't want to broadcast something that doesn't actually pertain to no significance of religion or something like that. And, if I do say something bad, how will that effect other people's views? I just don't want to mess it up...

Just checking in
the lent and easter season is so crazy that i haven't had a chance to even log on for awhile.
we did a passion play for the service on Palm Sunday with the sunday school students, they are truely blessed and a blessing, I posted my fav pics of the empty tomb on my blog.
being unemployed for the first time in what seems like forever I have discoverd that I have no time to work any more. Romans 8:28 has proved true once again in my life and God has opened up new paths to my ministry that I never would have choosen. I'm asking everyone I know to pray for wisdom and discernment as I enter into ministering to a young man currently in a correctional vacility, he used to rent the apartment in a house the church owed, reciently lost his mother and became involved with the law due to anger and drug/drinking issues. I became involved with him through his mothers illness, his name is Mark and he is struggleing with a lot of things including his doubts about God's loving him after what has happened in his life.
sorry I'm rambling, he is into music and that brought you to mind.
God continue to bless you, Carol
We have begun a study over Lent using Rediscovering the Book of Faith and I just wanted to share a little of how God is using it to bless us.
The group consists of all ages from 7th grade to 80 year olds. The study speaks to each one. Observions:
.teens save nothing-the new testatment letters would never have been written if left to them
.the older you get the more things you remember of your youth-the less of yesterday writing
them down is a good thing to do
.we knew little about Deborah, but all about Adam and Eve
.a 12 year old and an 69 year old can talk to each other
.there is a unique wisdom in a 14 year old to explain the bible
.coffee hour talk has changed-to sharing events of the daily study (book of Faith Lenten
Journey) and prayer requests asked and answered, and even looking for a quiet spot to pray
for a need right then and there
On a personal note; as the teacher of the Sunday school class that contains our confirmands, a letter sent to me in 1973 when I was was a young adult struggling with my newly found faith and the life I was living. Sharing this letter with my class showed them that the relavencey of Gods Word does not change. The verse sent to me back then; Jer. 33:2 reminded me that when I call upon the Lord, He will answer me, that He will show me mighty things. For one of my students that ment that God knows what is happening in his life right now and is there with him no matter what.

I'm old but in conecting with the Luthern's vs Cathloics conversation I read the following comment and some time age God's word spoke to me in the same way through a song, the song based on Psa 25:6 has a line in in it 'remember not the sins of my youth' which is somthing i need to be reminded of God's promises often, thank you for reminding me of the God's forgivness and His ministry through music and his family of believers

When my time comes, forget the wrong that I've done. Help me leave behind some reasons to be missed. Don't resent me. When you're feeling empty, keep me in your memory. Leave out all the rest.
This reminds me that I will die eventually, but I don't want to be remembered for the bad things that I've done. As a christian, I believe in Jesus, which in turn leads to feeling free, which in turn should lead to me doing good for others (based off of the 3 parts of psychology: thoughts, emotions, and actions). I'm not trying to say that I want to be famous, but, when I'm gone, I don't want anybody having any harsh feelings toward me.

I think you should start the Song Lyrics of Significance in the Calvary group, too. That's a good one, and I'd like to see what some of them would put down.

That Teens on a Mission group is great, what a good idea!
