Hi Janie,
Welcome to the conversation! Along with Dwight's comments, we actually have a whole category of conversations on this discussion board about this very matter. It takes some time to read through them all, but if you click on "Conversations…
Bonnie,
Welcome! Both Paul and Katelyn are right on! You're already a part of this even if your congregation hasn't officially signed on. The Book of Faith Initiative is, in a sense, nothing more than a churchwide conviction that has spoken and con…

The database is searchable by theme or title--not all of the movies meet your PG-13 criteria, but it's a good place to start!

Lilja,
Great news that you enjoyed using the Lenten Journey so much!
Augsburg Fortress is releasing a series of Adult Bible Studies this spring to support the Book of Faith Initiative. There will be several series; one that focuses on individual b…
There are so many helpful resources available on the web. We will begin collecting and posting these soon. But let's start a conversation now. Below are just some of the resources I myself have found helpful or others have told me about. Please comm…

"That God should use such blemished creatures to communicate God’s reality so well makes the Bible its own kind of miracle, but I hope never to put the book ahead of the people whom the book calls me to love and serve."

Thanks Anna,
I haven't checked Book of Faith for a long time, so an e-mail letting me know you had left a comment for me got me reconnected. Two local Lutheran clergy and I are cooperating for a Book of Faith bible study using the "People of Faith" series, specifically, "The Prostitute, Two Prophets, and Poor Ol' Job." To be honest, it may not have been the best choice we could have made, but we're trying to make the best of it. Tonight, we're focusing on Jeremiah.

Anna,
I am so glad to be in touch with you again. How are you doing? I don't see you at worship at ECLC. Have joined a new congregation? I miss seeing you. Let me know what you are doing now. I think of you every time I listen to Speaking of Faith......Jean
I'll send you my slide when it's done. And if you want to do one I will be glad to put you in our rotation at Synod Assembly. You can be like the mystery person that everyone is going "She looks familiar - what congregation is she with?" :-)
I am working on an idea for our Synod Assembly. I want to have a series of random slides on our screens about "I'm a Book of Faith Person" modeled after Microsoft's "I'm a PC" ad campaign.
Can you get me a "background slide" that has maybe the background color, border, small logos like the ones used in all the Augsburg presentations? Also - can you see if I have the same font style that all of the Book of Faith stuff is done in?
I can't edit any of the PowerPoints I've downloaded to capture that - I have attached my sample slide so you can get the idea.
I figured it out eventually. I did write Ning and got no response from them. So I spent a little while reading through the hundreds of line of code and found the line that controlled the background image.
Book of Faith is an ongoing initiative of the ELCA that will grow and develop—including resource options for you and your congregation. Be the first to know about upcoming resources and sign up for Book of Faith resource eUpdates.
