Bishop Dave Brauer-Rieke's Page

Thank you for visiting. A word of introduction.

Some things in life are really fun. I enjoy scripture study, teaching, visiting with people, learning from young adults, writing poetry and riding my bike. Some of the Bible Studies others have enjoyed are posted on my Synod Bishop's page. I haven't figured out how to set up links for you here yet.

Climate change issues are a passion of mine. I'm a member of the Oregon Global Warming Commission and a trained presenter with The Climate Project. I'm starting to list events that I'm doing on the events tab here. Also, if you want to get back to the Oregon Synod webpage you'll find lots of information there.

Live well!

Profile Information

What is the name of your congregation / organization?
Oregon Synod
What is your role in your congregation / organization?
Bishop
What is most challenging about engaging in Scripture?
I've always lived with a freedom to interpret. It is frustrating to me to run into brittle literalism or means of interpretation that shut down conversation.
Share a Bible passage that is especially meaningful to you.
For freedom Christ has set you free. Stand fast, therefore, and never again submit to a yoke of slavery.
