Good for Amy and good for you. I sent you an invitation to join so I thought maybe that's how you got connected. I've contacted Pastor to see about getting you in the loop for "mug the Pastor" conversations.

Let's see what the weather brings this weekend. I hate this heat with a passion.

We should have a monthly peace vigil. Each state is assigned a day during the month to pray for peace in the Middle East, especially between Israel and Palestine. I think it is sponsored through the National Council of Churches which is based out of the "God Box" in New York City. Well, I'm going to bed. I have a 9:00 a.m. meeting at the synod office which means I need to be on the road to Madison by 8:00 and 7:30 if I plan to attend worship. George, I'm probably skipping worship at the synod office. I'll be doing good to get to the meeting by 9:00! Are you enjoying this site? I really like it!

Carolyn probably wishes I would not have sent it to you since it is giving you more things to worry about! Whether the Palestinians understand the Israeli perspective, the Palestinians are being persecuted and the separation wall is a huge injustice. Are you thinking of what happened to the Jews in World War II and seeing this as their history and perspective? I see it as the once oppressed are now the oppressors or the victim is now the perpetrator. Essentially this is the abusive violent pattern that is a cycle that continues until finally some person or some people decide the cycle stops with them.

We should make it happen. Maybe those videos could be part of our Lenten Midweek services. I'm going to talk to Brad about it, because we have a camcorder type thing and we can put it onto VHS. I'm going to think about and chat with Mr. Dokken. Speaking of which I need to close out for this week and head home. When Brad last called he was in Sun Prairie. We're going to eat and maybe watch Survivor and Law and Order: SVU. Tell Beth I said hello and tell her we need to go on another road trip together!

Definitely. I wonder who in our congregation knows how to edit videos. I really want to make one and I think it would be an AWESOME project! Yesterday I took four youth with me to give communion to Gladys Kearney (2 of the 4 are taking first communion instruction to recieve their first communion February 22nd... one is in 8th grade and the other is a 6th grader... the other two are "friends" who are joining so the other two didn't have to meet with me alone). As we sat around Gladys' kitchen table, I asked her how became a member at Redeemer. She explained that she was baptized at Bonnet and when she married her husband they moved to town so she started going to Redeemer. She also said her husband never went to church until they were married. She also talked about the memory work she had to do as a child and how there was a public examination in front of the whole congregation. I know the kids enjoyed this. Wouldn't it be cool to tape some faith questions of some of our shut-ins--Kristi, Hazel, etc? It would be cool! We'll figure it out! If you go out to Augsburg Fortress, there are some free bibles studies. It might be interesting to utilize this at some point. So many ideas and so many opportunities!

George, I can't send you the video, because it is not online. I can give it to you Sunday. I watch it on my portable DVD player. I am more than happy to loan it to you (actually it belongs to Redeemer!). I found another I like as well. Actually, I like most of them! Did you see the confirmation video that I sent a few moments ago? It's a GREAT one! This would be an example of something we could create at Redeemer and then post on the site. I'm sure we have someone who could put it together for us. Maybe Jim, since he is learning all this computer stuff at college!
