Hi Jeanette,
Yes, we got Steph safely off. She arrives in Germany in about an hour, then a flight to Vienna, bus and train to get "home."
We have a synod dinner Thursday night. Tomorrow may work. Lets see if we can connect during the day to check on times.

Hi Jeanette. Good luck with your continued study! I'm stunned in our BoF studies, not that the NRSV is used as a base document, but that so many people seem content with it alone, despite it being full of "jargon" due to the Hebraisms and Greekisms that are never translated into English. And that's a "translation"?? It is, but again it isn't! Something of the sort of the CEV is very necessary alongside the NRSV and the NIV.
I hope that you find the LOL group useful. It is a new venture for us, so we will see how it goes. There is a Churchwide Assembly Group also that you may want to check out.
Hi Jeanette,
I'm hoping for some good discussion also. I don't know if you remember but the scripture i selected was from Kalel's funeral. I have always found great comfort in those words. The promise is so alive there.

Hi Jeanette, glad to see you in BoF. check out the synod's group, as I've written a couple things there about not just doing our BoF studies with the single NRSV in hand, but adding a meaning-based translation also, using a minimum of 2 Eng. translations for better understanding of the texts and more meaningful interactions. Don't know if I'm seen as carping on a single topic, but it needs saying!
Hi Jeanette, Thanks for the invite. It looks like it should be interesting. I've invited a few others to check it out. I'm a voting member to the Churchwide Assembly, so plan to spend time on the 50 Days of Prayer that Bishop Hanson has called for in preparation for that. Ken
Hi Jeanette, Welcome to Book of Faith! I hope you find this site to be a useful resource to get others excited about scripture. Network with others, post videos and photos, start and join discussions, and write a blog. You have the control. This site is all about what you put into it. Thanks for joining the movement.
