Hello from Jo at Parma Lutheran Church!

Profile Information

What is the name of your congregation / organization?
Parma Evangelical Lutheran Church
What is your role in your congregation / organization?
Director of Education & Family Ministries
What is most challenging about engaging in Scripture?
Distinguishing "working for God" time from personal devotional time with God.
Share a Bible passage that is especially meaningful to you.
Lately this has been hitting home for me:

The Message Bible
Isaiah 30:19-22 Oh yes, people of Zion, citizens of Jerusalem, your time of tears is over. Cry for help and you'll find it's grace and more grace. The moment he hears, he'll answer. Just as the Master kept you alive during the hard times, he'll keep your teacher alive and present among you. Your teacher will be right there, local and on the job, urging you on whenever you wander left or right: "This is the right road. Walk down this road." You'll scrap your expensive and fashionable god-images. You'll throw them in the trash as so much garbage, saying, "Good riddance!"

Welcome! I appreciate your sharing of the Isaiah passage. It certainly is one that we each need to be reminded of from time to time.

I encourage you to join the NE Ohio Group and the LACE group. The NE Ohio group is just starting but I'm hoping we can have valuable conversation through that group. At the very least it will be an expedient way to share information among our sister congregations. The LACE group is made up of Christian Education professionals from around the country that have a wealth of collective experience to share.

Blessings!

Karen
