Profile Information

What is the name of your congregation / organization?
Luther Seminary CL2642 course
What is your role in your congregation / organization?
M Div Senior Student
What is most challenging about engaging in Scripture?
Having the time to study scripture to the depths of my interest and my lack of Hebrew and Greek understanding.
Share a Bible passage that is especially meaningful to you.
John 4: 3-30 - this is the story of the woman at the well. I am particularly drawn to verse 28: "Then the woman left her water jar and went back to the city. She said to the people..." Can you imagine a woman in her straights being so filled by the spirit that she went back to speak to the people in the city whom she had been avoiding in the first place? She left the water that fills physical needs in order to share the living water.

God be with you as you prepare to graduate! My husband is in his first year at Wartburg Seminary. I serve in the South-Central Wisconsin synod. What synod are you assigned to? Let's definitely plan to talk more about online bible study. I am on the Book of Faith planning team in South-Central Wisconsin. My congregation is hoping to become a pilot congregation with the emphasis being the Book of Faith Social Network, discerning how bible study/adult learning, confirmation, Sunday School (thinking parents having things to connect with at home). I have some members who teach Sunday school and cannot participate in adult education. They woudl like an online bible study. We're thinking we might try some live chats. We're in the early stages. We are using "faithbook" in lieu of the "Book of Faith Social Network." People understand "facebook" and hopefully they'll come to know "faithbook" is a tool like "facebook" where one can discuss faith issues. Tell me more about school and your project!

Kathy, I'm curious how your online study is going. My church is pondering how to go about doing this. I would love to hear how you went about it in your congregation.
