Linda, the ELCA is wisely going "where people are" now... and where they seem to be is on-line. This site is a safe (and monitored for inappropriate content) and useful resource for anyone and everyone who wants to study the Word of God and discuss it with others. It is also going to be, hopefully, a database of ideas and resources for preaching and teaching the Word of God.
Look at the Conversations - join in the ones that interest you. Or, start your own... I know you are looking for good, basic Bible study tools.
The ELCA has 2.5 million members yet only 2000+ have joined the Book of Faith so far... so there is plenty of room for expansion of thoughts and ideas. This site is not limited to Lutherans... anyone who loves God's Word (or is curious about it) is welcome to join in the conversation. Ask your friends, family, and especially members of SJ to give it a try! As with the proclamation of God's Word, it is our relationship with others that will ultimately make this site "all that it can be."
Hi, Linda! Good to see you here. Eulonda joined too. Hopefully more of our congregation will join the conversation... either here or somewhere! I'm praying...
Book of Faith is an ongoing initiative of the ELCA that will grow and develop—including resource options for you and your congregation. Be the first to know about upcoming resources and sign up for Book of Faith resource eUpdates.
