Thanks for sharing this. I just joined FB, so I took the quiz. The quiz is really thought-provoking. Some of the questions are tough to answer - had me wishing sometimes I could give more than one answer. Anyhow, the results revealed that I'm a "Gen…

Welcome Donna! And WOW! What great pics! Especially the one with the rainbow. It's almost supernatural. Thanks for sharing. We look forward to your contributions on BoF.

Thanks! I guess I don't really lead worship with music, but I sing alto in the senior choir, and play flute for services every so often. The quiet time is hard with these two, but they are truly a blessing, and I learn a lot about God just through them!

Thanks. It's good to be on! I'm so excited to read through my whole Bible and get more in touch with God!
I love singing God's word!

Regarding your "fundamentalists" comment --
I think it is perfectly fair for us to say that fundamentalists are "wrong." Although it may make me seem harsh, closed-minded, or rigid, I firmly believe that Lutherans need to be Lutherans, and not buy into the culture of fundamentalism. I truly believe that they have been corrosive to our beliefs and are hurting the worldwide Christian cause.
The root of the problem is that Christian fundamentalism "feels good", which is why it is popular, especially among the recently converted or "born again" Christians. I firmly believe we are called as Christians -- we don't "choose Jesus" the way we choose Pepsi over Coke. This is the work of the Holy Spirit our duty is to respond to its call and do its work on earth. It feels good to "choose Jesus" because that appears to put the spiritual power into our hands - not true, it is in God's hands.
Similarly, when fundamentalists wage their "war against sin" they totally ignore the grace of God through the cross. By elevating themselves by condemning other sinners, they feel good about what they believe -- and that leaves the entire world with an incorrect image of Christians. We are called to bear the cross - God's work on earth is not supposed to be easy. It is a burden, a response to the burden Jesus bore for us.
I know I'm "preaching to the choir" here - you know what I'm saying, so sorry to pontificate... however, I really think we Lutherans need to stand firm for what is right, and not allow our faith to be associated with fundamentalism.

So, if you think I'm a total lunatic, please tell me! (I also firmly believe in open conversation and communication.)

Funny story... I can't read a lick of music... And I am 100% self taught... So as far as pursuing my music... I can't really go to college for it... However I did start a band which performed to raise money for world hunger (www.myspace.com/unspokensacrificemusic) we played for a year and our last concert was just a few weeks ago... I love the music ministry thing... That's the fun part about music!

I plan on going to college for art ed and art therapy... I think that'll be interesting... And fulfilling... God will call and I will follow...

It's a small world after all!

Great names! How cool!

Glad you liked my music... I need to add more... Haven't been able to seeing as my laptop had an oopsie and it seems to have resulted in a motherboard that no longer functions... So I've been borrowing my mom's laptop... Anyhoo, I just purchased me a nice shiny new HP and I think I am in love! lol. Now I can start youtubing again! YAY!

I'm in the process if writing a new song about freedom and flight... And I want to cover Melissa Etheridge's song "Message To Myself" off of her new album... They'll be up within the next few weeks I hope!

Thanks for the positive feedback! You write too?
