What is the name of your congregation / organization?
St Mark Lutheran
What is your role in your congregation / organization?
Director of Youth and Family Ministries
What is most challenging about engaging in Scripture?
Making the leap from mentally understanding to doing something about it in the way we live our lives.
Share a Bible passage that is especially meaningful to you.
Mark 12:28-31. There are plenty of meaningful passages, but I use this and its parallel Luke 10:27 to keep me grounded (on the good days, anyway) in what's most important: God and my neighbor.

Some possible answers:

-They were making a profit

-They were not interested in… Continue

14 For he knows what we are made of;

he realizes we are made of clay. (NET)

The word "clay" here is usually translated dust, like Ash Wednesday's "From dust you have come..." But whether it's dust or clay, "we are made of" it by someone... the same someone who has compassion on us. It's quite a comfort to be reminded not only that I came from dust and will… Continue
