We have begun a study over Lent using Rediscovering the Book of Faith and I just wanted to share a little of how God is using it to bless us.
The group consists of all ages from 7th grade to 80 year olds. The study speaks to each one. Observions:
.teens save nothing-the new testatment letters would never have been written if left to them
.the older you get the more things you remember of your youth-the less of yesterday writing
them down is a good thing to do
.we knew little about Deborah, but all about Adam and Eve
.a 12 year old and an 69 year old can talk to each other
.there is a unique wisdom in a 14 year old to explain the bible
.coffee hour talk has changed-to sharing events of the daily study (book of Faith Lenten
Journey) and prayer requests asked and answered, and even looking for a quiet spot to pray
for a need right then and there
On a personal note; as the teacher of the Sunday school class that contains our confirmands, a letter sent to me in 1973 when I was was a young adult struggling with my newly found faith and the life I was living. Sharing this letter with my class showed them that the relavencey of Gods Word does not change. The verse sent to me back then; Jer. 33:2 reminded me that when I call upon the Lord, He will answer me, that He will show me mighty things. For one of my students that ment that God knows what is happening in his life right now and is there with him no matter what.

Hi Sandra,
I have been following the readings and pastor"s helfull comments since he started this in January, but don't often take time to make comments myself. I hope there are more readers in our church who have just not identified themselves as a part of the group.

We are starting an adult group using the 'Rediscovering the book of Faith'' I have been amazed at the number of individuals who have signed up God does work wonders. Of those attending over 50% are new to bible study (we had ordered 25 books and have to order more) please pray that the Lord will use this this time to help discover as well as rediscover the book of faith among this church

God does move in strange ways,
Joyce and Dot were instramental in me meeting my husband, 12 years ago he was lost and wandered into Grace, Dot and Joyce to charge, they made him feel welcome, got him involved and provide a safe place for him to experience God's love and forgivness in his life. 3 years later I was in the same place and searching for a bible study turned up at Grace's bible study, that was where we met less then 2 years later we were married and God has continued to bless us and the church

I have been christian ed chair for 2 years now and while children's programs are growing I just cn't seem to grab the adults attention in their need for growth.
I have come from a bible centered back ground and know I need it, just looking for some help

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
