Yes, I think you have the room rate correct--but I'm sorry, I didn't write it down--it just seemed like it was the same as you quoted initially. Can we wait till we see each other, then figure it out? We might as well subtract the auto rental that I'll owe you.

I'm full-time director of lay ministries (an AIM) at our congregation in Wayne, which is in northeastern Nebraska. Our congregation worships around 200 each weekend. My husband is senior pastor, and our staff also includes a full-time church musician. We're just starting (in a week) an after-school program in the community, which I've been spending lots of time on this summer--and we have hired a part-time director for that.
My husband and I have 3 grown children--22, 30, and 33. They live far from us--North Carolina, Atlanta, and San Francisco. One grandchild so far--Max, in Atlanta. Two married (the 2 oldest, our sons)--and our daughter just graduated from Lenoir-Rhyne Lutheran College in NC.
Sue, I get into Minneapolis at 12:20 pm on Friday. I guess that means I'll likely be late to the first speaker, who starts at 1:45, I think. I'm going to have the taxi take me directly to the seminary, so would you check us in for Friday? I did guarantee it with my credit card, but since you're going to be there, just confirm our presence, and I'll check in when we get back to the motel at the end of the day. I'm sure there will be a place at the sem to stash my bags during the day. Did you get all your CWA reading done??
Sue
Sue, I don't know the Thurs. rate you got, but how about when you check in on Thurs., you tell them the situation, and say you'd like to get the lower rate? They will either give you the lower rate or have you move to a different (2-queen) room on Friday. But your last email to me did quote the prices they gave me accurately (for Fri., Sat., Sun.)--so we can settle up when we get together.
Blessings,
Sue
OK, Sue, I'm back, and I've made our Super 8 reservations for Fri., Sat., and Sun. I asked if you'd reserved Thurs. yet, and you had--so I asked if we could have that same room so that you wouldn't have to move, and she said that would "be no problem." You might mention that when you check in. The nights I reserved are under my name. So I think we're all set! Why don't you let me know if you receive this email, so I'll know that you know what I know!!
Sue
Sue, sorry about the missing emails! I didn't receive yours, and evidently you didn't receive mine either! So I just sent you one to your "boots" address--but I'll repeat here. I'll go ahead and reserve Fri., Sat., and Sun. at Super 8. You go ahead and reserve your extra night, Thurs. I'll let you know when I have done that!

Sue, thanks for this dialog! I didn't want to burden my cousin, who lives a ways from Luther, hence the hotel idea for Sat.-Sun. Yes, I'd be up for sharing a room near Luther, and I'd chip in on the cost of your rental car for back and forth from hotel to sem. I don't know how I'm going to get from the airport to the hotel for Jubilee ... I wonder if any of the seminary-area hotels offer shuttles from the airport? I haven't looked into that yet.
Sue, I'll fly from Sioux City to MN on 8/14, since it isn't a long flight from here, arriving at MSP at 12:20 pm. I think I'll wait to make my hotel reservations for a while so that perhaps someone who is going to Jubilee and staying in a particular hotel, and who has a car, will let me know where they are staying. I don't think I want to stay in a room w/o AC--I'm always hot as it is!! And I'll want to sleep well, so I'm going for comfort! I have a cousin there who I may stay overnight with on Sun., and she'll take me to the Hilton for the CWA on Monday. I'll meet you at Jubilee! ~Sue
Sue, if you find that there IS room at Stube Hall, would you let me know right away? I, too, need to get lodging, and I won't have a car to get me from motel to Luther.
