Book of Faith

For a second Sunday in a row we were privileged to have a seminary presidsent in our midst to bring THE WORD. Anyone who heard Dr. Mark Ramseth of Trinity Seminary, Columbus, OH, could not miss the transparency of this seminary president's investment in faith formation. For ordained clergy, this is where it starts. But also in the parish.

Mark's take on the text from St. John perfeftly fit faith formation, both in the parish and in the seminary. As we remembered the saints in our parish who had joined the church trimphant in the past year we were reminded of Jesus' concern for Lazarus, his weeping and his command to "unbind him". As Mark remarked, we don't know where Lazarus went when we was unbound, but our job at Christians is to be involved in unbinding wherever we find it.

It was our financial commitment Sunday also at Bethany -- and I remarked to Mark after church, he hit it out of the park! If you have a chance to hear Dr. Ramseth preach, don't miss it!
