Book of Faith

Hi, happy All Saints Sunday.

Book of Faith
I love this line from Peter's song, "Somewhere in Between":

"This bittersweet concoction of fear and grace
Chases me inside
But what's the harm in hoping that time won't erase
This momentary rhyme"
and what about this great passage from Isaiah?

"But now thus says the LORD,
he who created you, O Jacob,
he who formed you, O Israel:
Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by name, you are mine.
2When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you;
when you walk through fire you shall not be burned,
and the flame shall not consume you.
3For I am the LORD your God,
the Holy One of Israel, your Savior."
Isaiah 43

Isn't this a great prayer?
Prayer of the Day (ELW)
Almighty God, you have knit your people together in one communion in the mystical body of your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Grant us grace to follow your blessed saints in lives of faith and commitment, and to know the inexpressible joys you have prepared for those who love you, through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.

And here are four quick points:

* Peter's new cd GOODBYE HELLO is being released on Wednesday, November 4th. Check out www.petermayer.com for more info.
* H2o devos will begin on Sunday, November 29th, the Sunday after Thanksgiving Day and the First Sunday of Advent. This year's theme song is SING JOY.
* Watch www.petermayer.com for when Peter and his band is coming to your town.
* If you haven't checked out the Bible study, Peter and I did GOD Standard or Gold Standard? It's available from Augsburg Fortress, just three sessions long but mighty in inspiration and information.
