Book of Faith

Just wanted to gather some information from others using Book of Faith. While I have expended some energy into this very unique resource for Bible Study and reflection, I find it somewhat difficult for Lutherans to actually leave thoughts, reflections, questions. I've been told that a number of people (from even beyond our congregation) are reading the devotional responses I write. I find it more difficult to get others to write responses. Any suggestions or similar experiences?

While not exactly shy, I am trying to "catch up" with Book of Faith Initiative in other places (other than where I live in southern New Mexico...as the newly appointed/elected Advocate for the Rocky Mountain Synod). Our geographic area is huge, and our budget like many others is not huge...so trying to put a plan together for sharing the wonderful resources of BOF in places where Lutherans (and others) may gather is the challenge for me. I'd like to hear from lots of you!

I really appreciate how you have used the BOF website to promote Bible Study and share thoughts. It looks like you have expanded to use as a bulletin board for your home congregation. Cool. The BOF Initiative has fizzled in South Dakota...as far as utilizing the web site. I understand that it has, however, been a strong motivator to expand Bible Study programs in individual congregations...face-to-face groups. And that helps build a sense of community within congregations. Thanks for keeping at it and providing a great model.

As an older but extremely shy person, I can understand what you are saying. Although it is actually easier for me to write here (hidden in my home where no one can see me) than it is to speak or write publicly. As I prepare for a meeting of my congregation's BoF Team, it is very difficult to evaluate how we have done due to a lack of feedback. This being said the BoF initiative has been very beneficial to me just by allowing me to see that there are many others and yes even other Lutherans interested in the wonder Book of Faith.
