Book of Faith: Eye Mission
This video is one of eleven testimonials produced for the Northwest Synod of Wisconsin Book of Faith initiative. The Northwest Synod of Wisconsin has a strong companion relationship with Lutherans in the African nation of Malawi. In this segment, we learn about an eye clinic mission organized by members of Central Lutheran in Chippewa Falls.

What a wonderful video memory of our experience serving the people of Malawi and bringing the gift of clear sight to these children of God. Yes, now they can again read their bibles! May the central nature of God's word to those we met be a gift to all who see this clip. And to my friends at Luther Seminary, yes, that is me wearing a clerical collar. Here's a photo of Jon and I with Pastors and an assistant at Zomba parish.

Tim,
Each time I view this very powerful video, I'm humbled to have had the opportunity to spend time in Malawi doing Bible studies with young choir directors during my Sabbatical in 2006. We have much to learn when we read Scripture together with Lutherans from other cultures. We both end up changed.
